Travel For Your Wellbeing!

Wellness, each person I’m sure has their own meaning of the word, or rather what they perceive and understand about it.

According to the dictionary; wellness is the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort.

For me personally, wellness is a lot more than that. I am not only well when I feel physically and mentally at my best, but also when I do the things that gladden my spirit. When I am travelling, I tend to be more engaged, and more relaxed. It doesn’t even start when I step on the plane, it’s from the planning, the anticipation of my impending travels. Its the colours, the smells, the tastes , the sounds that truly make me feel alive and yes… you might think, it sounds like food, but maybe that’s just what it is…. travel is food for the soul!

And if it is, why do we travel less? Is it time, money, family responsibilities, work? If travelling makes us feel so well, why do we not invest more in it? Is it because we see it as a “nice to have/do” as opposed to a need we should fulfil for ourselves and our loved ones?

You know the old saying; “change is as good as a holiday”? Well li say; holiday/ vacation is a great change?

I’d like to invite you on a challenge.

When you plan your travel, notice what happens inside of you. How does it make you feel? The anticipation? Seeing your ticket? Your passport ( with your visa… if it’s a requirement for you). At the airport, boarding your plane, you land at your destination. You are in Kruger National Park for the first time, on a safari game drive and an elephant comes so close to the vehicle you can almost touch it. That! that excitement, that joy…is your entire system being super charged and in a state of joy from the experience. That is you being well!

So why are we not investing in our travels? both in time and money? Is it because we all believe that you need a lot of money to travel? The answer is no, you don’t need to break your bank balance to travel. But you do need to set money aside for it. You can schedule small trips closer to home, within the borders of your country or neighbouring countries.

Whatever our reasons for not travelling are, we need to learn to prioritise taking the time to go away on a trip, Maybe you prefer to travel only in luxury, or want to take the entire family …truth is, its all possible!

Whenever I plan a trio for clients, even when I am my own client…I’m always my own client…I make sure that play within the budget. At the end of the day, the experience matter and we have a vast pool of great suppliers who offer amazing quality services and facilities, and that is where I will always send you!

Family responsibilities? This could be a big thing, however, a little break, even if for 2 days will do you wonders and therefore, giving you an energy boost to attend to your family responsibilities, You can always find family friendly getaways and accommodations ar unlimited if you prefer a family holiday, but maybe you’d prefer something for only yourself…either way, time away is what you need and is best to recharge!

Work getting in the way, and there’s always endless deadlines that you are afraid to even miss three days work. Unfortunately work will never end, and working yourself sick, will not make you anymore enthusiastic, but taking a break will definitely do! Skip work as a try out for 3 days and go on a beach holiday, to the country see or on skiing trip that you’ve been yearning for, see how you feel when you come back from the holiday. You’ll find that you’re more jazzed up for work and excited about your projects again. if you are lucky enough to travel frequently for work, why not always take minimum 3 days for yourself and enjoy business + leisure = bleisure travel as a little treat for yourself?

Imagine how well we would all be, if we not only put money away for a rainy day, but for the holidays/vacations we need at every quarter of the year…if not every second month taking small trips. Watch what happens inside of you and see just how less trips to the doctor you’ll have and actually feel your cells healing!

So, I say let’s start planning your trip!
